INSTRUCTION FOR JUVENILES (AGES 10 to 16)

(CCP 45.0215)

Juvenile MUST appear in person, in open Court, WITH A PARENT or legal guardian, it doesn’t matter what the offense is.  You will receive a court notice mailed to the address on the citation.  If the address is incorrect, please call the court at once.

Defendants under the age of 18 are required to appear in court with a parent.  Defendant and parent have a legal obligation to provide the court with a current address and residence in writing and to notify the Court of any change of address while the case is active.  The obligation does not end when you reach the age of 17.  Failure to keep the Court informed of your current address is a Class C misdemeanor punished by a fine up to $500 and may result in an arrest.  The obligation terminates ONLY on full discharge and satisfaction of the judgment.

Minors (17 to 18)
