Bandera City Park

Bandera City Park is located in beautiful downtown Bandera. We offer fishing, swimming and picnic areas with BBQ pits.

The entrance and exit is the gate at 8th Street and Maple.

There are two pavilions available for rent. See the Pavilion Rental Form (PDF).

Pavilion rentals: $150 + $75 refundable cleaning/damage deposit.
All fees are due at the time the application is submitted. The $75 fee will be returned if the pavilion is left clean and undamaged.

Any events that you wish to hold at the park need to go through an approval process. Please contact the City of Bandera for an application and details.

Hours and Admission Rates

Open daily: 8 am - 30 minutes before sundown

Note: If gates are closed to restrict vehicle entry, you may still enjoy the park as a pedestrian unless otherwise noted at the 8th & Maple entry gate.

Weekdays:

No admission fee unless a holiday or special event.

Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays from Easter to Labor Day:

YOU MUST enter the park from the entrance gate at 8th & Maple

These prices are subject to change for special events:

General Admission (adults and children 12+): $10
Bandera County residents and children (6-11): $5
Active military, veteran, first responders, seniors (65+), BISD students & children under 6: No admission fee

NOTE: If you enter the park on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays from Easter to Labor Day in any manner to avoid paying admission, you are on private property and considered trespassing.

Season Park Pass

Valid from April - September
City utility account customers may obtain up to two (2) seasonal park passes at no charge from City Hall.
Bandera City Park season pass is for the admission of a single car of up to 5 people into the park. Each additional person will be charged the park admission fee.
Additional Season Park Passes may be purchased for $75 by city utility or non-city utility account customers.

Park Rules

Follow the "Leave no trace" law.
Speed limit is 10 mph.
No glass or styrofoam.
No littering or dumping. Garbage cans are provided throughout the park, use them.
No loud music.
No camping.
No moving picnic tables.
No open or ground fires: All fires shall be solely for cooking purposes and be confined to a fire box or portable BBQ pit. Violators will be fined $25.00 to $250.00.
Park only in designated areas.
No driving or parking on the lower level.
No off-road or all-terrain vehicles (4-wheelers, go carts, dirt bikes, etc) allowed off designated roadways.
No swimming nearby or standing on the dam.
No swinging from any ropes or tree limbs. You may only enter the water from the river bank.
No horse trailers, horse carriages, motor homes, or recreational vehicles allowed.
No refunds will be issued for park admission.
All animals must be on a leash and attended to at all times.

Bandera City Park Equestrian Rules

Horseback riders entering the park on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays from Easter to Labor Day Rates are subject to applicable admission charges.

YOU MUST enter the park from the entrance gate at 8th & Maple.

If you enter the park in any other manner on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays from Easter to Labor Day to avoid paying an admission fee, you are on private property and will be considered trespassing.

Follow the "Leave no trace" law.
A sign of Civil Practice and Remedies Code Chap 87 needs to be visible.
Negative Coggins required.
Horseback riders must stay on designated trails.
No bare back, horses have to be saddled
Single riders only, no double riders allowed.
No bicycles, motorcycles, dirt bikes or 4-wheelers on the horse trails.
Respect wildlife and wildlife habitat at all times.
No picking of wildflowers.
No littering or dumping. Garbage cans are provided throughout the park, use them.
No alcoholic beverages
No glass or styrofoam.
No reckless riding.
Horses may have the right of way, but be respectful to hikers that may be enjoying the trails.
Horse trailer parking and water troughs available at 3rd & Cypress.
No horse trailers allowed in park unless for parade lineup only.
Horses must be controlled & restrained at all times; either tied to a horse trailer, tied to a tree, tied to a hitching post or reins held in hands.
No open or ground fires: All fires shall be solely for cooking purposes and be confined to a fire box or portable BBQ pit. Violators will be fined $25.00 to $250.00.
No horses along river in main park area on days when entry fees are collected.
Horses must stay on upper level of main park area on days when entry fees are collected.
