VACATION WATCH PROGRAM

The Bandera City Marshal's Office is proud to announce our initiative aimed at enhancing community safety. The Vacation Watch Program, re-launched under the leadership of Marshal Nancy De Foster, is designed to safeguard homes and properties when residents are away.

The Vacation Watch Program offers Bandera residents the opportunity to request increased police patrols and security checks of their homes while they are on vacation. This voluntary program is part of the Bandera City Marshal's Office commitment to proactive community policing, fostering a sense of security and trust among residents.

Marshal Nancy De Foster emphasized the community-centric approach of the Vacation Watch Program, stating, "Our goal is to create a stronger, more secure community by addressing the needs and concerns of our residents. The Vacation Watch Program is a proactive measure to ensure the safety of homes when our community members are away, giving them peace of mind.”

Participation in the Vacation Watch Program is simple. Currently, residents can either call or visit the Marshal’s Office at 511 Main St. in Bandera to provide details about vacation dates and any additional information that might be relevant for officers on patrol.

Beginning February 1st, residents may also submit a request through the Bandera Marshal's Office website at https://www.banderatx.gov/marshals-office

Key features of the Vacation Watch Program include:

Increased Patrols: Specially designated officers will conduct additional patrols around registered homes to deter criminal activity.

Property Checks: Officers will visually inspect the property for any signs of suspicious activity or security breaches.

Community Engagement: The program encourages a collaborative effort between law enforcement and residents, fostering a sense of partnership in maintaining neighborhood security.

Marshal Nancy De Foster invites residents to take advantage of this valuable program, stating, "Our community is stronger when we work together. The Vacation Watch Program is a testament to our commitment to community safety, and we encourage residents to utilize this service."
